Highlights

  • The Kuala Gandah Elephant Sanctuary, established in 1989, is Malaysia's primary facility for rescuing and relocating Asian elephants displaced by habitat loss and human-wildlife conflict, with a mission to protect the endangered species. Visitors can feed and interact with rescued elephants, including a public bathing show with baby elephants, as part of efforts to raise awareness for the conservation of Malaysia's shrinking elephant population. While promoted as a sanctuary, recent visitor reviews express concern over the elephants' welfare, describing it as a "torture spectacle.

  • Entrance to the sanctuary is free of charge.
  • With lunch at a local restaurant.
  • Professional Driver cum Tour Guide Service.
  • Full Air Conditioned Vehicle.
  • Personal expenses.
  • Travel insurance.
  • One of the most popular activities is bathing with elephants, which incurs a separate fee - typically RM 40 for adults and RM 20 for children.
